About me

I firmly believe that children learn best through play.

After 18 years of experience working with young children, I've seen what works...

…and what doesn’t.

After teaching at Montessori-style and play-based preschools for over ten years, I spent a year teaching Pre-K at a new charter school in town. I can only think of one word to sum up my teaching experience there: yikes.

The school itself wasn’t terrible (my own son went there), but their expectations for what 3-5 year olds were expected to do and know were.

They were expected to sit still and remain quiet at a desk for the full day. They were expected to do worksheets at every lesson. They were expected to know what most kindergarteners know at the end of the school year.

It went against everything I’d ever known and learned about Early Childhood Education. I’m sure it’ll come as no shock to you that I didn’t stay after the school year was through.

Since then, I’ve seen a huge need for play-based educational resources for families. I want to use my passion and love for learning and curriculum in a way that helps others.

Founder & Owner

I graduated with my degree in Early Childhood Education in 2010 and with my Computer Programming and Analysis degree in 2019. I have over 18 years of experience working with young children: teaching preschool, tutoring, professional nannying, and homeschooling my own son for several years.

During that time, I quickly discovered that I have a strong love of learning, teaching, and creating intentional lesson plans.

My goal is to help all children develop a love of learning that lasts the rest of their lives. The first step in doing that is to make learning fun – not stressful or filled with anxiety.
